Something special happened at the very first Property Powwow evening
At the very first Property Powwow evening, something really special happened.
A room full of people who didn’t know each other two weeks earlier started sharing stories, ideas and encouragement — and it reminded me how much mindset and the right environment can change everything in property.
There was a moment during the evening when I paused and looked around the room.
People were talking.
Laughing.
Sharing stories.
Swapping experiences.
Making introductions.
And importantly… nobody was hiding behind their phones pretending to check emails while actually wondering how to start a conversation.
By the end of the evening, people had met new faces and reconnected with others they’d only known in passing before.
Not in a rushed networking-event kind of way.
In a genuine, human way.
That’s when I knew something special had started. The start of a new Networking Era.
Everyone arrived at a different stage of their property journey
Some people were completely new to property.
Some had already completed projects.
Some worked in trades or services supporting investors.
Others were still figuring out where they might fit — which, honestly, is exactly where many of us start.
But what mattered most wasn’t experience level.
It was willingness to show up.
Because showing up is often the hardest step.
(Especially on a Monday evening when the sofa is calling your name.)
One conversation can change direction
One of the things I’ve seen again and again in property is this:
Progress rarely comes from sitting at home trying to figure everything out alone.
It comes from conversations.
A quick introduction
A shared experience
A lesson someone else has already learned
A connection you didn’t expect
Sometimes confidence arrives after those moments — not before them.
Mindset changes everything
During the evening, Emma Howitt shared something that really stayed with me. She spoke about mindset.
Not in a complicated way.
In a practical, honest way.
She talked about how the biggest shifts in her own property journey didn’t come from learning more strategies first.
They came from learning to think differently about what was possible.
That really resonated with me.
Because mindset has changed my life too.
Not just in property.
But in health.
In confidence.
In starting new things when I didn’t feel ready.
In continuing forward when things felt uncertain.
Mindset doesn’t mean pretending things are easy.
It means recognising that change starts the moment you believe progress is possible.
Property isn’t just about strategies
It’s about people.
It’s about conversations.
It’s about encouragement at the right time.
It’s about hearing someone else say:
“I started exactly where you are.”
That’s why the right room matters so much.
Because the right room helps you see what might be possible sooner than you would on your own.
Introducing the Powwow Tool of the Month
One thing we’re introducing each month at Property Powwow is a Tool of the Month — something practical that can genuinely help people move forward.
Where possible, we’ll also try to arrange free trials or exclusive access for attendees.
This month’s tool was Property Filter.
Property Filter is a research platform that helps investors quickly analyse potential deals across the UK. It can help you:
- spot below-market-value opportunities
- check sold prices and comparables
- review planning potential
- identify landlord-heavy streets
- explore yield-friendly locations
- shortlist areas worth investigating further
Instead of guessing where to look, tools like this help people make more confident, evidence-based decisions.
And for anyone starting out, that confidence can make a huge difference.
The beginning of something new
The first Property Powwow evening wasn’t about presentations or polished performances.
It was about bringing people together.
Investors.
Beginners.
Trades.
Professionals.
Curious minds.
People first. Property second.
And what happened in that room confirmed something I already believed:
The right conversations change confidence.
And confidence changes everything.
If you’d like to join us at the next Property Powwow evening, you’d be very welcome.
Because you never know which conversation might be the one that changes things for you.
